Campus Staff Minister
Stephen loves God, people, science, and food, and he especially enjoys getting into deep philosophical conversations over a cup of coffee, exploring new places, hearing people's stories, and spending time with his housemates and his beautiful wife and best friend, Queena.
Stephen, raised with an agnostic background, became a Christian at the age of 17, and since then, his life has never been the same. His passion for empowering the next generation of global leaders and influencers with the gospel of Jesus Christ inspired him to transition out of classroom teaching in a high school biology classroom into full-time college ministry with InterVarsity. He enjoys working specifically with students in transition (i.e. freshmen transitioning out of high school, seniors transitioning out of college, etc.), especially those who do not have a Christian background or those who have significant doubts about their faith, and he is currently helping replant a Bible study that reaches freshmen at UCSD.
Stephen is a 2 on the Enneagram (with a wing of 3) and is an ENFJ according to the Myers-Briggs indicator. He was born and raised right here in sunny San Diego, and he has earned two college degrees from UCSD: a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology in 2017 and a Master of Education (with credentialing in single-subject science education) in 2018.
