Social Justice
God cares about social justice and, in following the footsteps of
Jesus, we too are passionate about pursuing social justice in our community
and beyond. There are a few ways we try to pursue social justice
practically day to day. Through our Mexico Service Team and our Justice Corps, come check out ways you can get involved and discover God's heart for social justice.
Meeting emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of everyday people is
what Jesus has always been about. We take weekend trips to Mexico
where we do construction, distribute food to local communities,
volunteer in orphanages, & develop lasting friendships with the
people we encounter from both sides of the border.
The
Justice Corps is a group of leaders who are passionate about
issues of social justice, and in following the footsteps of Jesus, we
find ways to educate our community and provide opportunities for others
to join us in extending our hands to bring good news to the poor, to
proclaim freedom for the prisoners, and to release the oppressed. We
invite you to join us as seek to impact the world for the better.
Special Interest
We all have things we are passionate about. From Art, to Medicine, to
Surf. Our special interest groups are about creating space for you to
enjoy things you are passionate about in the company of others who also
love those things too. Check out the groups we have, and if you have a
new special interest group you'd be interested in starting up, feel
free to send your idea here.
Join us as we explore our artistic passions and discuss new ways to use art as a platform to be a voice for the voiceless.
Our vision is... to DANCE, have fun, and fellowship with each other.
We host dance workshops every Saturday (tentative) at RIMAC.
Each dance workshop will focus on a different level and different style
of dance, such as hip hop, jazz, lyrical, salsa, tap, ballet, or any other type of dance you would like to learn. It's COMPLETELY FREE to join this group and go to workshops. We look forward to seeing you there!
Our purpose is to create a safe, reliable, Pre-med community founded on
trust and encouragement. We hope to accomplish this through having
service projects, creating study groups, and building strong
friendships with fellow Pre-meds.
S.A.L.T stands for Surfers about Living Truth. "Living Truth" isn't
about a religion or a philosophy, it's about relationships and
lifestyle. As surfers it's about respecting and loving one another in
and out of the water, sharing your talents in positive ways, and
helping to preserve our oceans and marshes. Our hope is that through
enriching students with surf sessions, beach clean ups, films, BBQs and
other outdoor activities, we can positively enrich our surf culture
here at UCSD. Non-surfers and beginners are welcome too!
Focus Groups
Students of Color (SOC) is about impacting the minority community at
UCSD by emulating the love of Jesus through providing a safe place,
equipping and developing leaders and exploring God's heart for
multi-ethnicity. SOC is a great place to meet other students of color on campus, laugh, party, have fun, and learn about Jesus.
Greek InterVarsity is part of a non-denominational Christian
organization (InterVarsity) that seeks to reach and be a spiritual
resource specifically to the Fraternities and Sororities across the
country with the message of Christ.
International Christian Fellowship is an international community of
American and International students and friends located at University
of California, San Diego. International students from all faith
backgrounds are warmly welcomed.
Being South Asian brings with it unique insights into our relationships
with the people around us, and our relationship with God. Jesus always
delivered a message that challenged people to engage their ethnic
identity and see how God weaves His beauty into the fabric of our
cultural DNA. This small group seeks to explore issues South Asian
students experience, celebrate our cultural beauty, and seek out God's
heart and voice within it.
Small Groups
InterVarsity is not a
place, name, building, or program. It is people. InterVarsity is a big group, but you aren't just another face in the crowd. We
believe God wants us to be connected to each other in community. If you
want to meet some great people, or explore Jesus together with others, then check out some of these small groups we have to get involved.
Get together, grab some brunch, check out mass, look into God's word
with other UCSD students, and get a taste of the catholic community
within intervarsity. There are plenty of opportunities for Catholic
Students from Morning and evening Mass to midweek bible studies.
InterVarsity is about people getting together, enjoying each others
company, and experiencing God together. Out community groups are a key
place where you can connect to others, encourage each other, and
explore the bible together weekly. We have community groups that meet
Monday-Thursday. Come check them out!
These small groups are freshmen specific and are a great place to hang
out with other freshmen from your college, get to know people who are
also new to college life, as well as get some advice from cool older
students. They help introduce you to the fellowship InterVarsity is all
about, and get new students plugged in as quickly as possible into
their college. There is a frosh group at every college that meets
weekly.
Are you interested in joining a small group of people who just made a
decision to follow Jesus or made a decision to renew their faith and
want to know what's next? These groups meet anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks
for an hour and a half. Look at the available times below. If none of
the times work for you, contact Wendi Marchena via email (wjoiner@gmail.com) or at (858) 245-7600. Sign up for a Bridge Group at http://www.wejoinin.com/sheets/60

All of us long to connect with someone who can identify with our
circumstances and share in our day-to-day life. Prayer is just that - a
personal experience and intimate connection with our loving Heavenly
Father.
Prayer is as natural to us as breathing. Prayer is at the center of our
relationship with God. We are here to pray for anything and everything
going on in your life.
